Saturday, October 24, 2015

On the 24th and 25th of October, Almaza Bay was the chosen venue to host the first of its kind Egyptian International Economic Conference in Matrouh. The conference was under the patronage of his Excellency President Abd El Fattah El Sisi to promote investment in Matrouh along with finding solutions to expanding the touristic interests and attractions in the area.

Chairman of Travco Group International, Mr. Hamed El Chiaty, along with key tourism specialists and figures, attended the event, as well as the Governor of Marsa Matrouh, Mr. Alaa Abu Zeid, and Prime Minister, Eng. Sherif Ismail, also foreign ambassadors, heads of investment and financial funds and institutions, development banks and foreign delegations were also among the participants.

Travco Group handled the travel logistics of the big event, attending to key figures from point of arrival to departure. The company’s fleet handled the designated delegates’ transportation. A team of Travco staff was on call and present to offer assistance to the guests at a moment’s notice for any services and requests. Almaza Bay was specifically selected to host the conference as it provides an unmatched level of service, state-of the-art facilities, and the only venue prepared for a big business meeting as such. The close proximity of the 5-star Jaz hotels from the conference venue, made it easy and comfortable for the participants during their stay.

El Chiaty was amongst the first to pinpoint the pristine Mediterranean riviera in Egypt as a beautiful beach tourism attraction besides the Red Sea cities; of which Egypt has for long been popular for. The first step was taken with the construction of 5 hotels in the pristine Almaza Bay, and the company now is in the process of expanding and adding another 5 hotels to the map. With the optimism taking charge in the conference, El Chiaty is hopeful to promoting Mersa Matrouh as a destination, favored by the Europeans as it is closest to them, a mere 2 hour flight from Rome to Matrouh. El Chiaty envisions Almaza Bay: as an all year round destination, that is a hub of various activities and entertainment facilities, to engage the tourists and interest them to visit throughout the entire year, not just during the summer season, as well a destination to serve as a venue for business meetings and conferences.

Abu Zeid is very optimistic about the conference and investments, he explained, that the "steps taken by the governorate for marketing and promoting investment opportunities internally and externally over six months have achieved investments amounting to about $12 billion". He also expressed the need of using the many available resources of the government for industrial potential projects.
